WIC Guide

WIC helps millions of women and children access nutritious foods, supplements and health education. Also known as the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, this federal assistance program is available in all 50 states, U.S. territories and many tribal nations. To qualify, you need to either be pregnant, postpartum or breastfeeding. Your children can also qualify up to the age of 5. Other program requirements include meeting criteria related to income, residency and nutritional risk. Those who are approved for the program receive WIC benefits, which they can use to purchase approved foods and formula at participating locations.
